Whether you’re speaking general affirmations or Bible verses over yourself, affirmations can be a great tool to help you unwind and fall into a peaceful place before going to bed.

I love affirmations for this very reason. I speak them over myself right before bed and find that they help reset my mind before I go to sleep.

In this article, I share which affirmations I like the most and I also include a few Bible verses for my Christian friends.

So, let’s get to it!

22 Peaceful Bedtime Affirmations

01. I have done enough for today.

You don’t have to squeeze one more thing into your day. Whatever you accomplished was enough, and whatever is still waiting can be picked back up tomorrow. Tonight, your only job is to rest.

02. I give myself permission to rest.

Rest isn’t something you have to earn by checking everything off your list. Give yourself permission to stop, get comfortable, and let your body and mind have the break they need.

03. I release everything I cannot control tonight.

There are some things you simply cannot fix, change, or figure out before you go to sleep. Instead of carrying them into the night with you, imagine setting them down and giving yourself permission to revisit them another day.

04. My mind can be quiet now.

Your brain may want to replay conversations, make tomorrow’s to-do list, or think about every possible scenario. Remind yourself that you don’t need to solve anything right now. This moment is for quiet.

05. I am safe, comfortable, and at peace.

Take a moment to notice the comfort around you. Feel your pillow beneath your head, the blankets around you, and the quiet of the evening. Let yourself settle into the safety of this moment.

06. Tomorrow is a new day, and I do not need to figure it out tonight.

Tomorrow will come whether you spend tonight worrying about it or not. Give yourself permission to leave tomorrow’s questions for tomorrow and be present in the peacefulness of tonight.

07. I let go of the stress I carried today.

You don’t have to take the weight of your day to bed with you. Picture yourself releasing the little frustrations, worries, and stressful moments one by one. The day is over, and you can let it go.

08. My body deserves deep and restorative rest.

Your body does so much for you throughout the day. Sleep is a chance to slow down, recover, and recharge. Let yourself sink into your bed knowing that rest is something your body genuinely needs and deserves.

09. I choose peace over worry tonight.

Worry has a sneaky way of getting louder when everything else gets quiet. When anxious thoughts appear, gently remind yourself that you don’t have to follow them. Tonight, you can keep returning your attention to peace.

10. I am grateful for the good moments this day gave me.

Even difficult days can hold tiny moments worth remembering. Maybe it was a good cup of coffee, a sweet text, a laugh, sunshine through the window, or five quiet minutes to yourself. Let one of those little moments be the final thing you carry from today.

11. I release the need to replay today in my mind.

You don’t need to analyze everything you said, everything someone else said, or everything you wish you had done differently. The day has already happened. Let it be finished.

12. I can rest without feeling guilty.

You are allowed to stop being productive. You are allowed to lie down without thinking about everything else you could be doing. Rest is an important part of taking care of yourself, not something you need to feel guilty about.

13. I am allowed to slow down and simply be.

You spend so much of your day doing, planning, answering, helping, thinking, and moving from one thing to the next. Bedtime is your opportunity to step away from all of that. You don’t have to accomplish anything in this moment. You can simply be.

14. Whatever I did not finish today can wait until tomorrow.

An unfinished to-do list doesn’t mean you failed at your day. There will almost always be something else that could be done. Let those unfinished tasks stay exactly where they are while you get the rest you need.

15. I breathe in peace and let go of tension.

Take a slow breath and notice where you’re holding tension. Maybe it’s your shoulders, your jaw, your hands, or your stomach. With every exhale, imagine some of that tension leaving your body and making room for calm.

16. My thoughts do not need my attention right now.

Not every thought that pops into your head needs to be explored. You can notice a thought without following it down a rabbit hole. Let it pass and gently bring yourself back to the quiet of the present moment.

17. I trust myself to handle tomorrow when tomorrow comes.

You’ve made it through difficult days, unexpected situations, busy mornings, and stressful moments before. You don’t have to prepare for every possibility tonight. Trust that tomorrow’s version of you can handle tomorrow.

18. I am proud of myself for making it through another day.

Maybe today was wonderful, maybe it was exhausting, or maybe it was somewhere in between. Either way, you made it through. Take a moment to give yourself a little credit for that.

19. I welcome stillness, comfort, and rest.

Let the pace of your day begin to fade away. Turn down the noise, soften the lights, get cozy, and allow yourself to enjoy the stillness that comes at the end of the day.

20. I release today with grace and begin again tomorrow.

You don’t have to carry today’s mistakes, frustrations, or disappointments into tomorrow. Tonight can be a dividing line between what has already happened and what comes next. Let today go and allow yourself a fresh start in the morning.

21. I am worthy of peaceful, uninterrupted rest.

You don’t need to accomplish more, be more productive, or have everything figured out before you deserve rest. You are worthy of a peaceful night simply because you are human and your body needs sleep.

22. I close this day with gratitude and welcome a peaceful night.

Take one final moment to think of something you’re thankful for, no matter how small it may seem. Then let the day come to a close. You’ve done what you could, tomorrow can wait, and now it’s time to rest.
